Oh Hey Guys!

Oh hey guys. It's been awhile. Let's just say that this semester was intense (understatement of the year)--and Tyson and I kinda dropped off the grid for awhile. Now that the semester is winding down, I have a little more time to update all of you on what has been going on in our lives this past semester.

As most of you know, I have been student teaching this semester at a middle school in Provo. I have loved it a lot. Though it has been a lot of work [a lot of work] I have really grown and learned a lot. The kids were great [for the most part] and I had a lot of great opportunities to teach both History and English. I'm really proud of what I have accomplished and I'm looking forward to teaching in the future. That's if I can find a job. I am optimistic, but... keep me in your thoughts and prayers, ok?

I don't think I have ever felt so stressed (Tyson can attest to this), but teaching has been so rewarding. I will say this--I am tired, but a good tired. I only have next week left, observing only, and then I have a few weeks break. I'm looking forward to relaxing until graduation. Here are a few of the pictures I took that highlight my student teaching:

Lesson Planning. Every night until midnight. Fun times.

trying to stay warm while lesson planning

valentine's from my students.

walking home from a successful day of job interviews and teaching
Night final project example for students (only part of it)

lesson planning in an empty classroom. Most of my days were spent like this waiting for Tyson to pick me up from work.

Lots of accidental naps--where I sleep for 4 hours and wake up at 1 AM. Whoops.

Teacher Work Sample and Batman marathons.
Listening to the wise words of Gandalf as I stay up late grading papers. Fun! ;)

Tyson and I are graduating! Yay :) We'll be walking April 25th. I'm so happy to be so close to being done! I've been taking classes over 2 years straight (including spring and summer terms). It's going to be weird being done with school. I do have one class left that I have to take spring term. But it should be easy peasy. That reminds me--does anyone have BYU graduation robes that I can borrow for graduation? I don't feel like spending 45 bucks on something I'll never use again. Let me know.

Tyson's job is going well. He is super busy, but loving it [of course!]. He just got back from a business trip in Mexico and had a good time. We'll be going to Vegas soon for some sort of convention thing. So that will be a fun break from Provo life.
Something Tyson took a picture of in mexico--looks like yummy tacos.
Tyson went to bed earlier than I did! First time all semester. Haha!

For the rest of this post here are some pictures to highlight this semester:

Still teaching primary--sunbeams and loving it. I love those kids. So much fun.
Lots of trips home to Idaho:

crazy fog

Mr. Marley. Parent's new cat. He's a cutie.

My baby. She still loves me.

This was a funny thing to walk in on--my grandparents dog just sat there on the couch, looking at the window, waiting for them to come home. She didn't move the whole time. Crazy dog.

Great Grandma's 100th birthday celebration! Lots of fun :)

Tyson got to go skiing! He had lots of fun. I stayed home and graded papers. Party!

Hello, Mr. Handsome :)

kitty!
Shopping therapy...especially shoes!

new nail polish color :)
Fun dinners :) :
crepes!

Happy birthday to me! We love La Jolla Grove :)

trying new food--blood oranges. Yum.
nutella cupcakes to accompany temple nights
homemade pizza--we are turning into pros!

Saw this last night when I was waiting for Tyson's flight to get in from Mexico. It was really cute! Interesting experience going to a movie by yourself--the only other people there were couples. But, that didn't stop me from enjoying myself and that huge bucket of popcorn! Yum :)
movies! Target has great deals. I found Willy Wonka for 5 bucks. Perfect.
Remembering my Grandma, who passed away about 3 weeks ago. I'll write a whole post about that later:

grandma's dress and her favorite (and mine) diet coke!
Sorry it has been so long! I'm hoping to update a lot more frequently. Thanks for being patient with us :)
