Busy Post-Graduation LIfe

We cleaned out our freezer and remembered that we still had the top of our wedding cake in there. I think we were supposed to eat it on our 1st year anniversary 6 months ago. Anyway, we dug it out. Still looked awesome (thanks Andrea!), but I was too afraid to eat it all! Haha. I did try a nibble, though. Still tasted great.

Tyson's work had a convention thing in Vegas and they let him take me! We had a lot of fun! Lots of work, but it was great! We ate very well. Tried lots of yummy food. My favorite was a Thai restaurant in the Arias Casino. So yummy. We love curry. My favorite part of the strip was the M&M store. Loved the color wall. And although the M&Ms were ridiculously priced ($13 a pound), we still got a little bit. All different colors of blue!

Panoramic View Tyson took with his phone. Pretty cool!

Tyson loved the New York, New York. Tyson's work even paid for us to go on the roller coaster (but during the day). The roller coaster was a lot of fun--but a little bumpy. Worth the $14 per ticket? probably not. But it was a great experience. Loved the barrel roll.
giant fruit ninja. Even won us 9 raffle tickets! He's soooo good! ;)

The view from the suite that Tyson's work had. We didn't stay in this room, but got to hang out in it quite a bit. You can see the Bellagio fountains right behind the mini Eiffel tower. Seriously though, this Eiffel tower is tiny.
One night we decided we didn't want real dinner. Went straight for the dessert! So good. Our eyes were bigger than our stomachs. But, they were delicious. Yum.

Google just announced that the next city they are putting Google Fiber in (ridiculously fast internet) is Provo. Too bad we'll be moving by the time they get it in. But still pretty awesome. These little flags line Downtown Provo Center Street.

Love taking long walks while all the trees are blooming--love all the blossoms :)

Been reading a lot. My YA Lit class taught me great habits. Still love reading this stuff.

new running shoes. They are BRIGHT!
We went to the aquarium in Sandy to try something new. We took my Dad with us. It's pretty small, but they have quite a bit to see and the tickets are really reasonable. We had lots of fun. Loved the Otters.

This lizard was a ham! It stopped to pose and looked right at me as a snapped a picture! So funny.
We saw this beauty on our way home from Vegas. "Zombie Apocalypse Store"
This was great. Loved it in IMAX. So funny!

More blossoms :)

This was perfection. We loved every minute of it. Seriously so good. Love Benedict.
Tyson and I just got back from another trip to Vegas. We found out that "Billy Elliot" was touring through Vegas for only one week. We had to go! I saw the musical when I was on my study abroad in London and seriously loved it. Tyson has loved the music since high school. We couldn't pass up this chance! So, we bought tickets and decided to make a fun weekend out of it. We hit some thunderstorms on the drive there, but it sure was beautiful!

The Smith Center in Vegas (where Billy Elliot was showing) was gorgeous. The whole inside of the building was granite. It was so pretty. Our seats were in the balcony, but the view wasn't too bad at all for the price. The show was awesome. We loved it. It was great to see Tyson so happy and excited. I'm glad we decided to take this little trip and have some fun.

I love the message of the play--to be yourself and to not be afraid to express yourself. And the importance of family. And though it does have quite a bit of coarse language, the overall message is extremely inspiring. I'm so glad we went.

And since it is about coal mining, it made me want to watch October Sky. So now I am watching it as I write this blog post. Can I just say how much I love this movie. The soundtrack is brilliant. Also, if you like reading memoirs--the memoir about October Sky (called Rocket Boys) is awesome.

This quick trip to Vegas was lots of fun. We ate good food, explored Fry's technology store (we found the new spiderman movie--bluray, dvd and ultraviolet copy--for only 13 bucks! What a steal), and even went swimming.

We also found out that our car can probably make it to Southern California on one tank of gas! Pretty impressive. We had over 90 miles left on the tank of gas when we got to Vegas.

Anyway, wish us luck on our apartment hunting. We still have a few months before our contract at our current place is up, but we want to be on top of things. Also, I can't wait to get a cat! Haha.

Sorry for the lengthy update. I'll post again soon.

Happy Graduation!

Tyson and I graduated a few weeks ago. We've both worked so hard for this and it's great to see it finally pay off! My undergraduate career seriously went by so fast! I can't believe I'm finally done.** It feels so good to graduate and we both are extremely proud of what we have accomplished! Now on to the next step of our lives--an MBA (for Tyson!) and teaching (for me!). And as I announced on Facebook, I just got hired for a full time teaching position. I'll be teaching English and History to 7th and 8th grade students. Which means we will be moving in the next few months. Life sure doesn't wait for you to catch your breath!

**Disclaimer: Oh. And technically I'm still taking my very last class. Though, midterms are this week and finals are in about 3.5. So basically I'm done. Crazy.

Here's a few of the pictures we took:

Went out to dinner with the family! We love La Jolla Grove

Tyson walking across--he's at the top of the ramp.
